Specify which Arbitrum network you mean
Arbitrum provides several chain configurations. Arbitrum One uses Nitro with an optimistic rollup settlement process on Ethereum; AnyTrust configurations use additional data-availability assumptions. The Arbitrum-labelled capital panel follows the provider's chain identity, so it should not be read as a combined balance for every chain built with Arbitrum technology.
ETH gas is distinct from ARB exposure
Transaction execution on Arbitrum One uses ETH. ARB is a separate token exposure, rather than the unit of every network charge. Fees account for execution and posting data to the parent chain. An Ethereum transfer estimate or a single execution gas-price reading cannot represent the complete cost of an arbitrary Arbitrum transaction.
Capital on the chain versus escrow elsewhere
Application TVL and a canonical bridge's escrow balance can describe different locations in the same asset path. Adding both without studying the methodology can count related backing twice. A protocol row may also report several deployments. Use chain-scoped activity and the chain's observed history when assessing changes specific to Arbitrum.
Settlement and application limits
- Fast sequencer acknowledgement and finalized withdrawal to Ethereum are different events.
- Identify the network's data-availability and dispute configuration before applying assumptions from another Arbitrum chain.
- Borrowing and liquidity provision retain the destination application's oracle, contract and withdrawal risks.
