Programs operate on accounts
Solana applications use programs and accounts to hold state and execute instructions. Lending positions, token balances and exchange pools are application-specific accounts, not a single chain-wide savings product. SOL is the native network asset; an SPL token represents a different asset even when it is traded in a SOL pair.
Separate fees from account deposits
Solana's documented fee model includes a signature base fee and optional prioritization fee. In legacy/v0 transactions, the priority fee depends on the requested compute-unit budget and its price. Creating a new account may also require a rent-exempt balance, which should not be confused with the transaction fee. Our supplied-budget estimator excludes those account deposits.
TVL, throughput and usable liquidity
Reported Solana TVL values tracked application deposits in dollars. It does not measure all SOL holdings, available order-book depth or guaranteed withdrawal capacity. Network transaction counts can include validator votes, so a high throughput reading is not a direct count of user swaps. Compare individual protocol balances and market liquidity when researching a specific trade or loan.
Check the program and asset
- Verify the program address, token mint and upgrade authority instead of relying on a displayed symbol.
- A concentrated-liquidity pool cannot be modeled accurately as a simple full-range constant-product pool.
- Consider oracle timing, network congestion and wallet transaction simulation for any real interaction.
