  • User-provided prices; source not verified. The built-in example is synthetic, not market history.
  • Purchases use exact daily UTC closes, including a purchase on the final date. Missing dates are never interpolated or skipped.
  • The lump-sum benchmark assumes the entire contributed budget was available at the start. Unused cash earns zero. No final sale fee, tax, spread, slippage or annualized return is included.

Formula and worked example

At each exact scheduled date, tokens bought = (budget − percentage fee − fixed fee) ÷ daily price. Monthly dates retain the original day, clamping only shorter months. End value uses the exact final daily price. The equal-budget lump sum invests the same total budget at the first date with one fixed fee.

Synthetic example, not market history: monthly $100 purchases at prices 100, 50 and 100, with 1% purchase fees, buy 3.96 tokens. Total budget is $300 and end value $396, a $96 gain or 32% simple return. The $300 lump sum buys 2.97 tokens and ends at $297. Missing required daily prices cause an error; no interpolation, automatic history, final sale fee or annualized return is used.

These estimates use bounded decimal arithmetic. They are scenario calculations, not trading instructions or forecasts.
