  • This is expiry arithmetic for cash-equivalent settlement in the supplied quote currency. Premiums are per underlying unit, and the supplied contract count and multiplier apply equally to every leg.
  • Long legs add intrinsic value and pay premium; short legs subtract intrinsic value and receive premium. Total allocated fees are subtracted once. A negative net premium cost is a premium credit.
  • Extrema and break-even prices use the nonnegative price domain, strike knots and the unlimited right tail. The 41-point table is only a view of prices from zero through your table maximum.
  • Zero-payoff tests use a 1e-12 relative tolerance against the intrinsic, premium and fee magnitudes. Duplicate roots use the same relative price tolerance; root text uses 15 significant digits.
  • The model excludes pricing before expiry, early exercise, assignment, delivery capital, coin or inverse settlement, taxes and margin requirements. Every leg assumes the same underlying, expiry and size.

Formula and worked example

Call intrinsic value = max(expiry price − strike, 0); put intrinsic value reverses that difference. Each signed leg multiplies intrinsic value minus premium by contracts and your supplied multiplier. Total fees are subtracted once.

Hypothetical call spread: buy strike 100 at a premium of 5 and sell strike 110 at 2, with one contract of 100 units. At expiry price 120, net is 700; the best/worst net results are 700/−300 and break-even is 103. This is expiry arithmetic, not option pricing or an exercise/assignment workflow.

These estimates use bounded decimal arithmetic. They are scenario calculations, not trading instructions or forecasts.
