EVM execution with BNB Chain consensus
BNB Smart Chain supports EVM-compatible contracts and uses Proof of Staked Authority. Ethereum tooling compatibility helps applications run similar contract interfaces, but it does not make BSC's validator, governance or bridge assumptions identical to Ethereum's. The chain label here refers to BNB Smart Chain, not every network in the BNB Chain ecosystem.
BNB is the native execution asset
BNB pays gas and participates in network staking. A token transfer invokes that token's contract, while a basic native BNB transfer has a different execution requirement. Our added BSC fee model is limited to a standard 21,000-gas native transfer with a supplied or observed combined gas price.
What the capital ranking measures
The chain TVL panel values capital assigned to tracked BSC applications. A token's market capitalization and a centralized exchange's custody balance are different measurements. Large TVL also does not guarantee a narrow swap spread: the assets, ranges and reserves of the pool you intend to examine determine usable liquidity.
Application and network checks
- Verify whether a token is issued natively on BSC or represents assets bridged from elsewhere.
- Inspect contract permissions and pool design instead of treating EVM compatibility as an assurance of safety.
- Separate validator/governance exposure from the lending, oracle or exchange risks of a particular application.
